Deaf Canada Conference Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is hosting the Deaf Canada Conference from July 19 to 24, 2004. Our Conference theme is "IF TOGETHER, THEN FOREVER" which focus on working together; sharing your expertise, knowledge and experiences with others to improve the quality of life in the Deaf Community. It will be an amazing opportunity to meet Deaf people from all over Canada and perhaps from the United States, and to participate in workshops which will include a variety of presentation topics: Advocacy, Business, Communication Development, Community Relations, Deaf/ASL Literature, Deaf Education, Deaf History, Deaf Indigenous People, Deaf Plus, Deaf Senior Citizens, Deaf Women, Deaf Youth, Deaf Blind, Employment, Health, Human Rights, Interpretation, Language and Culture, Leisure and Sports, Politics, Recreation, Sign Language Research, Sign Language Teaching and Technology. This event will be held at the Delta Hotel which is located in the heart of downtown and is conveniently connected to the Winnipeg Convention Centre. We are steps away from CityPlace, Portage Place and the newly establishment of True North Centre which is under construction. Delta Winnipeg's location provides easy access to The Forks Market, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Centennial Concert Hall, Assiniboine Park and much more! To enjoy your stay here in Winnipeg - there will be a variety of entertainment of socializing at a Yacht Club, a Prairie Dog Train to Hitch 'n Post and Drama/Awards Night. This is the 6th Deaf Canada Conference. Your participation in this event will demonstrate community spirit and ongoing commitment to the growth and development of citizens in Manitoba. The proceeds raised from this event will be used in Manitoba to support education and literacy, sports, children's programs and new initiatives in the Deaf community. For your kindness and support towards the Deaf Canada Conference 2004 you will receive a tax receipt for donations over $10.00. Those who donate $2.00 or more will have their names published in the program book as supporters of the Deaf Canada Conference.
