Biography of Jo-Anne Goure

Jo-Anne Goure completed her post-secondary education at Mohawk College. She then attended Fanshawe College to receive her Office Administration Certificate. She also received Leadership training at workshops offered by the Ontario Public Service Employee Union (OPSEU).

Jo-Anne has worked at the Ernest C. Drury for 10 years as a Librarian Technician. She also worked at FedEx as a Support Associate for 4 years. She was a Local President of the Ontario Public Service Employee Union for her 2nd term as well as chair of the Local Employees Reinforcement Committee. She was a Co-Chairperson for School Council for the Parents at E.C. Drury School. She was Fundraising Director for the Ontario Culture of the Deaf as well as Librarian Actress for Bi-Bi Program. She has taught hearing students and employees the American Sign Language (ASL) for 12 years.

Her motto is “Be strong and Stay Positive.”

Jo-Anne has been a strong leader in the Deaf community. She has a strong background in Public Relations. She has superb skills in dealing with people, is intuitive, expresses her perspective on situations and is very knowledgeable.

Jo-Anne is a diligent worker and a very capable negotiator. She is well known in the deaf community and the Ontario Public Service Employee Union. She has proven to be highly motivated towards achieving goals.

Jo-Anne has been responsible for “Guiding Young People Into The Future” and providing educational opportunities for students of the high school, elementary school and both junior and senior residences of the E.C. Drury School of the Deaf in Milton, Ontario.
